This year, Georgia offers two Free Fishing Days in honor of National Fishing and Boating week, Saturday, June 1st and Saturday, June 8th startinag at 7 AM. In addition, Georgia offers a Free Fishing Day in honor of National Hunting and Fishing Day on Saturday, September 28th. Georgia residents do not need a fishing license for fishing on free fishing days on public waters. Residents can fish on any public waters in the state including lakes, streams, ponds, and Public Fishing Areas (PFA). Residents do not need to obtain a Wildlife Management Area (WMA) license to fish on PFA’s or WMA’s. Drop your line at Hugh M Gillis PFA, River Bend WMA, or Beaverdam WMA. Take this opportunity to introduce someone to the fun of fishing!

Join Eatonton Main Street at the Eatonton City Center Stage for the Downtown GetDown Concert Series!
This free concert will include a live performance from Hughes Taylor, a blues and rock musician. Bring your lawn chairs, coolers and dancing shoes for a night of fun!
Vendors open at 6 p.m., and the music begins at 7 p.m.

The City of Conyers hosts a series of new and free concerts this spring!
Featuring Who’s Bad, a Michael Jackson Tribute Band, for the last show in this series.
Concert will be 6-10 p.m. on Bank Street with Food Trucks. Bring your chairs and blankets.

Join the Animal Care Team and one of our talented animal artists, meeting either the Zoo’s “VanGoat” or “Baaahlo,” and take home a unique work of art in this unforgettable experience.
Learn about the positive reinforcement training process of becoming an animal artist. See firsthand the ways this enrichment activity fits into high standards of care for animals at the Zoo when you meet a goat or sheep and see their art creation in action. Please note that we cannot guarantee a specific animal for your program.
- Meet at the Petting Zoo area of Outback Station 15 minutes before the Wild Encounter start time.
- Please note that availability is limited for all Wild Encounters.

BRING YOUR LITTLEST ONES FOR AN EVENING OF EXPLORING THE ZOO AND OBSERVING ANIMALS AFTER-HOURS!
Enjoy a mini tour of the Zoo with a Zoo Educator, stopping along the way to sing songs, hear animal stories and dance like an animal!
This program is designed for families with children ages 0-5, with opportunities for exploration for ages 0-2. Join us for a fun evening adventure before the sun goes down.

Meet the ancient giants of Aldabra Atoll. See and feed one of the world’s largest living tortoise species in the only Wild Encounter experience that allows guests to share the same space with the animals.
The Aldabra Tortoise Wild Encounter is unique in that participants can experience meeting a tortoise up close, inside their habitat.
- Meet at the Aldabra giant tortoise habitat at Scaly Slimy Spectacular 15 minutes before the Wild Encounter.
- Please note that this encounter brings you up-close to an animal in a staff-only area with an Animal Care Team member but does take place in public view.

Join us at City Hall for the DTL Happening: Flag Day Celebration! This event is a special commemoration of our nation's flag and the perfect opportunity to celebrate the history and significance of this important symbol of American identity and unity.
From June 14 through July 4, the Hudgens Center for Art & Learning will present an incredible exhibition of works that explore the flag's many meanings and interpretations. The exhibition will be held at Lawrenceville City Hall, giving visitors the chance to view these stunning pieces this summer.
DTL Happenings is a free pop-up event series dedicated to building community through engaging experiences that focus on fun, out-of-the-box activities in some of Lawrenceville’s most exciting locations. There’s always something going on in Lawrenceville, and this is a Happening you won’t want to miss!

No creature looms larger over the savanna than the African elephant, and you’ll agree when you come face-to-trunk with one at Zoo Atlanta! Meet Tara or Kelly while learning why they are such important ambassadors for their species.
During this Wild Encounter experience, you will learn about elephants with a Zoo Educator before heading behind the scenes to meet up with members of the Elephant Care Team and find out more about elephant care at the Zoo. Of course, no Elephant Wild Encounter would be complete without the opportunity to hand-feed one of the “girls” an afternoon snack.

We welcome you to the wild world of warthogs! Come explore what it takes to care for these charismatic creatures and their neighbors in the African Savanna.
Do warthogs really have warts? Get an up-close look and see! Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at Zoo Atlanta’s African Savanna and give the warthogs a favorite treat. You’ll also meet members of the Zoo’s Animal Care Team and find out what goes into the care of warthogs and other savanna animals.
- Meet outside the warthog habitat near the SweetWater Beer Garden 15 minutes (at 12:45) before the Wild Encounter to check in.
- Please note that availability is limited for all Wild Encounters.

Located on Madison Street in Downtown Dublin GA, the Market on Madison is a premier open-air venue buzzing with activity. A community-driven experience, vendors and visitors come together to celebrate the richness of local flavors each Saturday morning 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM from April through mid October. Patrons can also find a variety of handmade crafts and original art, and find fun activities for the Little Sprouts throughout the season! Over the last several years, Dublin’s Farmers Market has experienced much growth, noting more than 30 vendors each week and 350 patrons during peak produce season.

Savor the fun during the 5th Annual Taste of Juneteenth Festival Saturday, June 15th starting at 12 PM in Downtown Dublin GA with a parade. The party stays hardy at the Market on Madison featuring live music and entertainment, food, and art for the whole family at 2 PM till dark!

Come join us from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. to celebrate the unique artistry and skills of Georgia artists. Potters, canvas, wood carving and turning, traditional folk art, custom and fine jewelry. Mingle and chat with the artists themselves, find out what inspires them to create and feel free to purchase and take home an original piece of artwork.

Looking for a fun outdoor activity to do with the kids? Be sure to check out the upcoming Kids' Fishing Derby happening on June 15 at Claypits Lake on Fort Eisenhower!
This free event runs from 8-11am and is open to all kids ages 3-15. Just show up for registration anytime between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Be sure to bring your bait and rod (if you have more than one child registering, please be sure to bring a spare rod as only one rod per child is allowed). Then spend the morning fishing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies! The winners will be determined by the total pound of fish in each age group.
Lunch will be provided to all registered participants. We hope to see you all there!

Bring your troop to join us for an interactive breakfast and learn more about how we care for this iconic species, including 4-year-old Floyd and his silverback dad, Taz. During breakfast, you’ll watch the gorillas start their morning by searching their habitat for surprises left for them by the Animal Care Team. Start your day alongside the pandas at Zoo Atlanta, joining them in breakfast (don’t worry, yours won’t be bamboo!) and exploring the world around you. Explore the world of pandas and our relationship with them over the years through programming from our educators.July 6 & 20: Complex Carnivores
While their breakfasts might be different, join some carnivorous friends as they investigate and patrol their habitats. Come face-to-face with some of the incredible adaptations that help carnivores survive, and hear from our Animal Care and Education Teams about how we take these adaptations into account while caring for animals including tigers, clouded leopards and more!August 3 & 31: African Savanna
Graze alongside the animals of the African savanna where you might catch glimpses of zebras, ostriches, giraffes and elephants as they start their day. Learn from our Education and Animal Care teams about the dynamic relationships between the different species on the savanna and investigate how our teams care for multiple species living together.AGE RANGE:
